Moth visitors to Year 1

Julie from the Avon Wildlife Trust came to visit with some fluttery friends.  She brought in bug pots containing different species of moths and we all had a close look through a magnifying glass. 





 Julie told us lots of moth facts, including that the largest moth in the world is as big as a ruler!

Julie showed us a stuffed bat.  It had huge ears!  

We made our own moth masks, carefully thinking about the patterns we used.




We played a game outside where the blindfolded bat had to find the moth by making beeping noises!  It was really fun!



We loved having Julie to visit.  She is fantastic and knows loads about nature in the surrounding areas.  If you are free this Saturday, Julie is leading a free 'Spooky nature day' down at Snuff Mills with lots of fun activities!  See the flyer below:
