Magic 'e'!

In phonics today we learnt all about split digraphs!  This means when there is an 'e' on the end of a word it makes the vowel in front of it say its name.  The 'e' is always silent.

For example 'cake' has an 'e' at the end.  The 'e' is silent and but makes the 'a' say its letter name.  How magical!

We made our own magic 'e' wands to help us remember.

Shhhh! The 'e' is silent

Magnetic letter split digraphs.  We joined the two vowels together.

We made the 'e' sparkle because it is silent.
