The Olympic Torch visit!!

We had an exciting visitor today!  Charlie Hodge, a sports teacher from John Cabot Academy, came in to show us her Olympic torch and tell us all about when she got to take part in the relay!

She was nominated by pupils at her school who think she is fantastic.  We got to ask her lots of questions and she told us all about how proud she felt walking along with the flame lit.  She even told us that when each torch bearer had to pass the flame on to the next, it was called 'kissing'!  We thought this was hilarious!

Here is Charlie carrying the torch in the relay.  The children from her school lined the streets and cheered

Charlie talking to us with her amazing torch!

Some lucky Begbrook children got to do a pretend torch relay!
