Yesterday we played with our finished dinosaur settings. 

 We drew pictures of ourselves and imagined that we were in dinosaur land.  We were amazing at working as a group to tell stories using emotions.  Here are some photos of us in our groups.

Dinosaur Lands

Today we started a new Literacy topic about fantasy stories. We learnt that fantasy stories are magical and are set in really interesting places. We thought carefully about what Earth might have been like when dinosaurs were alive, then we made a model to show a dinosaur setting.

Shapes

This morning we used 3D shapes to make prints of 2D shapes to help us learn about the faces of 3D shapes.  It was very messy but we used lots of great shape language like face, side, corner, edge.


The pyramid had a triangle face:

The cone had a circle base.

The cone could also roll:

The hexagonal prism had rectangle faces.

'Qu' and 'wh' spellings!

Our spellings next week are based around the 'qu' and 'wh' sounds.

We used 'Word' on the laptops this afternoon to make our own dinosaur fact sheets. 

 We inserted pictures of dinosaurs using clipart too!  Here are some photos of us hard at work.
