Traditional Tales

We have had a great first week back and are thoroughly enjoying our new traditional tales topic. Well done for all your super homework, the Year 1 teachers really enjoyed reading your reviews of all the different traditional tales including Jack and the Beanstalk, The Frog Prince, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and The Gingerbread Man. Lots of you gave the stories 10 out of 10 so we are looking forward to sharing more traditional tales as a class. It would be great if you could bring in your favourite traditional tales from home, just make sure your name is in it!

We have been focussing on The Three Little Pigs this week. All of the children have really enjoyed getting to know this story and are brilliant at retelling it. Why not have a go at home? You could use the story map to help you. We have been busy acting out the story, making finger puppets, printing brick wall for our role play areas, making the pigs houses out of junk modelling and construction toys and creating our own weird and wonderful designs for the pigs houses!

Next week we will be writing our own versions of this well loved traditional tale!
