New reading levels

By the end of this week we will have glued a new reading colour chart into the front of your child's reading record book. (Some have it already!)

This chart is according to national levels, after each book has been benchmarked with 100 children. It means that your children will move more rapidly through the fine levels and that each colour has some easier and some more challenging books.

Here is a copy of the colour level chart, including the national expectations for which level children should be achieving by the end of each year group.

Please see your child's class teacher if you have any questions and remember to hear your child read daily! Reading is THE most important part of your child's learning in Year 1.
